This in-house service can save you a substantial amount of money each time it is utilized. For example, replacing a Dewalt 18 volt drill battery pack at your local retailer can run upwards of $89.99 or better. With our service, we dismantle your existing worn out battery pack and replace the battery cells inside with your choice of upgraded cell options shown in the box below.

Deciding Between Battery Types
When choosing the correct Ni-CD or Ni-MH replacement cells for your particular application, there are several factors that are important for you to consider: number of charge cycles, longevity of run time, and memory effect:
Number of charge cycles. A charge cycle consists of a full charge and a full discharge of the battery pack. Ni-CD battery cells will provide you with a range of 800-1000 charge cycles. Ni-MH battery cells will provide you with fewer at a range of 400-500 charge cycles.
Longevity of run time refers to the running time between charges and is dictated by the battery's milliampere hour [mAh] rating. Essentially, the higher a battery's mAh rating, the longer will be its run time. Ni-CD battery cells are available in 1500 mAh and 2100 mAh ratings. Ni-MH battery cells have significantly longer run times than Ni-CD cells. Our most popular is the 3300 mAh line, which is the preferred battery cell for high performance battery packs in the remote control car industry. These are also used in drill packs to provide extra run time and exemplary performance.
Memory effect generally refers to cases in which batteries appear to hold less of a charge than expected. Specifically, it describes a characteristic of Ni-CD batterys' gradual loss of its maximum energy capacity when it is repeatedly recharged after being only partially discharged. This infamous "memory effect" can be controlled only if Ni-CD cells are completely discharged between recharges. Ni-MH cells, on the other hand, build up little to no memory effect, and are preferred throughout the industry for this type of application.
Turnaround Time and Delivery options
Our in-house battery rebuild services typically will have a 24 - 48 hour turnaround time from the time of receipt of your old battery packs at our state of the art facilities. You may elect to drop off or ship to us any number of battery packs. At the time of receipt, we will provide you with a turnaround time estimate. If you choose to drop them off, we will call you immediately upon completion of your battery packs and you can pick them up at your convenience. Otherwise, the newly reconstructed battery packs will be shipped back to you using your choice of one of the following carriers: USPS, UPS, Fed-Ex, and DHL. Customers pay the return shipping cost of the completed battery packs. Battery pack rebuilds should be sent to our address freight prepaid: Send to: Micropower Battery Company, 80 NE 13 Street, Miami, FL 33132. Include your sales order number or a copy of it with the battery pack(s).
Rebuild Disclaimer
Most battery packs are designed to be dissembled and have screws to hold the outer case together. Such battery packs are durable and may be repeatedly rebuilt. However, some battery packs do not have screws and require disassembly by cutting a sonically welded plastic seam. These particular packs can be rebuilt and we do have tools for cutting open the case. Upon replacing the internal battery pack, the case is refitted and glued at the seam. In the event the case is damaged and not reusable, we will call you to offer you other options. It is our policy not to attempt to open your pack, if it is one that will likely be destroyed in the process. General Conditions
We extend our new customers a discount of 5% off initial orders for quantities of ten or more battery packs to be rebuilt at once. This requires the opening of a commercial account with Micropower Battery and agreement to our general conditions. Commercial accounts are available with Micropower Battery upon approval of our standard credit application with current vendor references. Our terms for payment on all commercial accounts are NET 30 days from date of invoice. Additionally, there are negotiable volume discount rates available for payment terms agreed upon between Micropower Battery and our clients.
